John Calipari responds to the comments made on Monday by former Wildcat and current Morehead State head coach Sean Woods.
LEXINGTON, Ky. - John Calipari said, "Knowing Sean I figured he misspoke, I chalk it up to that and I move on, I’m not taking it personal," in reference to the controversial comments
made by former Kentucky Wildcat and current Morehead State head coach Sean Woods. The two schools face one another in Rupp Arena Wednesday night.
Among the things Woods said on Monday included that he didn't get a good vibe from Kentucky's current players when he was around them during the Hurricane Sandy telethon a couple weeks ago.
When asked about Woods' comments, Calipari said, “At the telethon and whatever these guys have done, they were hugging volunteers so I don’t know where he got that. There may have been somebody that didn’t know them or something, I don’t know. I love what our kids are about, what they’ve done academically, what they do in the community. Being here is a big deal and it’s hard to deal with all the stuff that goes around but these guys seem to do it pretty well."
