John Calipari says Terrence Jones needs to pick it up despite returning from a dislocated pinky injury for his first action since Dec. 17.
LEXINGTON, Ky. - Kentucky coach John Calipari said his sophomore preseason All-American, Terrence Jones, needs to "step on the gas" and play like he's fighting for minutes.
Jones returned to action against Lamar Wednesday for the first time since dislocating the pinky on his left hand, his shooting hand. Jones had nine points and six rebounds against the Cardinals.
Jones said his pinky is still causing some discomfort and he found himself protecting it at times in the game. Jones said the last few weeks have been tough, coming off a poor performance against Indiana followed by an injury which forced him to miss two games.
