Bat Cats junior pitcher / first baseman A.J. Reed is in the running for national player of the year honors.

He leads the NCAA in home runs with 19 and is near the top in several other categories as well.

The UK star was told by head coach Gary Henderson he could be the best in the land if he listened to the staff and changed his body.

Which was exactly what Reed did in the off-season...and for coach Hendo, he really meant what he said to his young stud.
