The 139th running of the Kentucky Derby is this Saturday at Churchill Downs.

But a familiar face will not be there this time around...as trainer Bob Baffert bowed his final contenders out of this year's event today.

Governor Charlie and Code West will not run.

Baffert has had 23 horses in the Derby since 1996.

Winning the race three times: Silver Charm in 1997, Real Quiet in 1998 and War Emblem in 2002.

It will mark the first time Baffert doesn't bring a horse to the gate for the Derby since 2008...and just the fourth time since 1996.

Positive note, he will get to attend his son Bodie's first communion now.

Hear from Baffert in the video.
