Cooler Weather Changes The Rain To Snow Wednesday

Cooler weather is expected Wednesday, allowing our scattered rain showers to transition into a wintry mix and eventually snow.
Midnight Update: Another round of rain is pushing through central Kentucky at the time. The rain is widespread, but mostly light. More scattered showers are expected Wednesday morning.

Lexington has cooled to 39°, while most cities are in the low 40s for now. It still looks like temperatures will stay warm enough for a rainy Wednesday morning commute and not an icy one!

The breezy winds and rain didn't allow it to feel quite as warm as it actually was. Lexington climbed to 54° Tuesday afternoon. It looks like much cooler weather is on the way for the rest of the work week.

Rainfall will become less widespread this evening as we head into Wednesday morning, but everything should stay as rain for now. Temperatures will start the day in the mid 30s.

Temperatures will climb to near 40° on Wednesday afternoon, but colder air aloft will allow some of the scattered rain showers to switch over to a wintry mix during the day.

By Wednesday night, some areas could see a complete switch to snow. Most areas will see very little accumulation overnight, but a few spots may see a dusting to half an inch by late Thursday morning.
