A Winter Storm Warning continues for Bell, Harlan, Letcher, Pike, Leslie, Perry, and Knott Counties through 8 pm Tuesday.
A Winter Weather Advisory continues for the rest of southern and eastern Kentucky through noon Tuesday. Hazardous travel conditions will be possible at times due to slick roads and blowing snow.

Midnight Update: Temperatures have just hit or are falling below freezing at this time in most areas, allowing for snow to start accumulating again. It still looks like most areas will see from a dusting to an inch, with higher amounts possible in the high terrain of southeastern Kentucky.

Scattered snow showers will continue overnight into Tuesday. Early in the evening, many areas will be too warm for snow to accumulate on the ground, but after midnight, temperatures will drop back below freezing. By morning, most areas will see between a dusting and an inch of snow. Gusty winds could blow snow from the ground, decreasing visibilities at times. Higher elevations in southeastern Kentucky could see another 3-4" by mid-Tuesday.

Hit and miss snow will continue through the day on Tuesday. When dry, expect to see cloudy skies. Temperatures will only make it into the mid and upper 30s across the region, which is more than 20° below average for this time of year.

Most of us will finally dry out by Wednesday with the arrival of more sunshine. Temperatures will climb through the rest of the week and actually be closer to seasonal averages by the weekend.
