Dry conditions will continue this evening as temperatures slowly fall through the 80s. We'll bottom out at 69 by Thursday morning under partly cloudy skies. In southern Kentucky some patchy valley fog will again be possible.
A stray shower or storm will be possible at any time on Thursday, especially north of the I-64 corridor. But the organized strong storms will likely develop in the afternoon, north of the Ohio River, and then slide into our region. Scattered evening thunderstorms will be possible as temperatures get halted in the mid 80s.
During the overnight into Friday morning a cold front will move from west to east and drag along it a line of showers and storms. With the cold front arriving during the overnight we will lessen our chance for widespread severe weather, but storms will need to be monitored into Friday morning.
Behind the front, much cooler air will filter in on Friday and stick around through the weekend.
