High temperatures were in the low 90s Saturday and Sunday afternoon, but relief will arrive as we start the work week is a strong cold front. The cold front will slide south across the Bluegrass during the midday on Monday, limiting high temperatures to the mid 80s. In southern Kentucky temperatures will be able to climb into the upper 80s before the front arrives in the afternoon. Most locations will remain dry with only partly cloudy skies, but a few stray showers or storms will be possible along the cold front.

Behind the cold front, light north winds and dry air will filter into the region. Overnight low temperatures Monday night will dip into the low to mid 50s under mostly clear skies. Tuesday afternoon, a beautiful and comfortable late-June afternoon is in the forecast. High temperatures will be in the upper 70s.

After a pleasant start to the work week, a sharp change is expected as temperatures soar into the mid 90s by late in the week. Hot temperatures are expected to continue into next weekend. We will likely see the hottest days of the year, thus far!
