Midnight Update: The cold front has just about finished working its way east through Kentucky. Scattered rain showers are still in eastern Kentucky and will not clear the Commonwealth for another couple hours. The cooler air continues to funnel in. Most areas are currently near 40° with Danville at 39°.

Meteorologist Michael Estime will have the latest on our cooling weather starting at 5 a.m. on ABC 36 Good Morning Kentucky.

Rain will end in eastern Kentucky late this evening. Skies will stay mostly cloudy overnight into early Tuesday morning as temperatures drop into the low 30s by morning.

We should stay dry through the day Tuesday with a mix of sun and clouds. Overall, most areas will see more sunshine than clouds. Even with the return of the sunshine, we will be cooler with highs in the upper 40s.

Temperatures will continue to drop Wednesday, which is when we could see some scattered areas of wintry mix switch to snow.
