A dry and cool overnight is expected as temperatures cool back into the mid 50s. Then on Friday, high clouds will return from the west and they will thicken for the afternoon and evening. Temperatures will be able to warm back into the mid 70s with southwest winds at 5 to 12 mph, and plenty of morning and midday sunshine.

By Friday evening a band of rain with embedded thunderstorms will be approaching the Bluegrass from the northwest, along a cold front. It looks like Friday evening plans will likely be dry, but then showers will return for the overnight along the front. We'll drop into the upper 40s by Saturday morning with lingering showers into the weekend. Saturday afternoon will likely dry out, but extra clouds will persist and temperatures will be around 20 degrees warmer in the afternoon! High temperatures are only expected in the mid 50s on Saturday!

The chilly air will continue on Sunday.
