A casino gambling bill may be introduced in the Kentucky State Senate within a matter of days.  Governor Steve Beshear says Georgetown Republican State Senator Damon Thayer will sponsor the bill.  Thayer supports casino-style gambling as a means to generate revenue for Kentucky's thoroughbred industry.  The Democrat governor said today that he and the Republican Senator have agreed on the wording of the constitutional amendment called for by the bill.   will sponsor the measure in the
Republican-controlled Senate. Beshear wants to lift the constitutional ban on casinos in order to generate more revenue. If lawmakers approve a constitutional amendment, it would be placed on the ballot for voters to ratify or reject in November.
