Young Lexington Equestrian Training For Olympics

We have an Olympian right here in the Bluegrass. And she's already making history.
We have an Olympian right here in the Bluegrass.

And she's already making history.

Reed Kessler is an Olympic Show Horse Jumper.

That means she's an equestrian who jumps hurdles up to 5'0 high on her horse.

Kessler moved to Lexington from New York earlier this year.

It's impressive enough that she's going to London this year to be a part of a US Team.

But did we mention Kessler is only 17?

Her dad Murray Kessler says, "Her being named to the U.S. Olympic team is the youngest in recorded history from any country anywhere in the world."

Kessler and the other 3 members of the US Show Horse Jumping Team will be competing against the rest of the world the first week of August.

We'll hear from the athlete herself, Sunday night on ABC 36 News at 6:30.
