Police said a young boy ran around a dumpster and out into the street where he was hit by a truck Monday morning in Frankfort.

Investigators said it happened near River Bank Apartments on Wilkinson Boulevard around 11:00 a.m.

Police said the boy suffered injuries to his head and face, but that he was expected to be okay.

He was taken to a hospital in Frankfort for treatment.

Investigators said the driver was not expected to be cited since the boy ran out into the street, which didn't allow the driver enough time to stop.
