Police said a man was arrested Sunday after a man's body was found off of a Woodford County road.

Police said the body had been dragged behind a vehicle for more than a mile.

Vernon Saunders is charged with murder, tampering with evidence and abusing a corpse.

Investigators said it started around 6:00 a.m. Sunday when someone spotted a body lying off of Highway 33.

Police said their investigation led them to a home on Troy Pike.

After a standoff, investigators said Saunders surrendered to police.

Police said an autopsy would be done on the victim's body to figure out how he died.
