Women Building Home For Single Mother

Women Building Home For Single Mother

More than 35 women come together to build a home for a single mother in Lexington
Thirty-five women from around Lexington are coming together over the next week to build a home for single mother Irene Green.

The house is being built by women as part of Habitat for Humanity's Women Build program. Even Green is out helping and learning to build her home.

More than half of the women working on the house have never even picked up a hammer before, let along build a house.

The Women Build program has been going on in Lexington since 1994.

Most of the materials donated to the build are from local hardware and home improvement stores like Lowes.

The Women Build program builds one house every year.
