A woman is out of the hospital after she was attacked by a pack of dogs according to the Franklin County Sheriff.
The sheriff said Heather Moore was in her front yard Saturday night on Flat Creek Road when three pit bulls and a German Shepherd attacked her.
They said some neighbors tired to help her fight the dogs off, then one of the neighbors ran to a nearby fire station for help.
Moore was taken to the UK Hospital Trauma Center for a large cut on her head and bites all over her body.
“As you can imagine, four dogs attacking you... We're just thankful she's going to be ok and will heal,” Franklin County Sheriff Pat Melton.
Moore was released from the hospital Sunday.
Three of the dogs are in quarantine and deputies said the fourth dog, a black pit bull, is still on the loose.
Sheriff Melton said so far, the dog’s caregiver, Gayle Abrams, is charged with not keeping the dog’s rabies vaccines up to date.
More charges are pending according to the sheriff.
