Maria Baltierra-Dejesus is accused of endangering the welfare of a minor.

UK police say they found her and her granddaughter, 17-month-old Alouette Day-Moreno-Baltierra, last Thursday near the Joe Craft Center.

Police say the child had disappeared from Los Angeles October 15th.

Meanwhile Aloutte's father Matthew Day says he plans to fly to Kentucky to be with his daughter.

He says the grandmother was a problem that affected his relationship with the child's mother.

"They've actually moved several times since Alouette was born. So I was there in the hospital when Alouette was born, and at that time, Dominique and I were already split up. We were already separated because of her mom," says Day.

Child Protective Services now has the child.
