Woman Critically Injured In Hit-and-Run

A woman was rushed to the hospital in critical condition after being hit on Old Frankfort Pike. The driver left the scene, according to police.
A woman is critically injured following a hit-and-run accident in Lexington.

Police say that the woman was walking along Old Frankfort Pike around 7 p.m. Sunday when a driver a small, dark-colored car hit her.

According to police officials, the driver never stopped and continued driving toward New Circle Road.

Firefighters said the woman was unconscious when the arrived. She was rushed to the University of Kentucky Hospital in critical condition.

The Accident Reconstruction Unit closed down Old Frankfort Road for about five hours Sunday night.

Lexington Police are looking for a dark, 2006 to 2009 Pontiac G-6 with front end damage.

Police officials tell ABC 36, they are still searching for the driver.
