A woman was arrested after police said she slammed her car into a light pole in Lexington then took off.

Police said an officer heard the crash on Old Higbee Road near Clays Mills Road at around 2:30 a.m. Friday.

When he got to the scene, he found a light pole down in the street and some debris.

The vehicle was located a short time later, damaged and abandoned on Copper Run Road.

Police said they tracked down the owner, Brooke Bailey.
