Woman Accused Of Leaving Accident Scene

A Lexington woman is charged with wanton endangerment after getting into a car accident and leaving the scene with her children.
A Lexington mother has been charged with wanton endangerment after police say she left the scene of an accident with her children Wednesday night.

Police say Linda Harwood, 24, crashed her car on Spurr road around 7 p.m. She then pulled her three children out of the burning vehicle and left the scene.

Harwood later reported the car stolen and claimed she had never been in an accident. She faced a judge for the first time Thursday afternoon. She has been placed on house arrest and is not allowed to see her children.

Harwood is expected back in court later this month.
