A Lexington girl with a life-threatening heart condition was granted her Make-A-Wish today.
Caity, 7, wanted a play set where she and her brothers and sisters could play. Today, she was given a handicapped accessible playground in her backyard.
Her parents said Caity was born prematurely with downs syndrome. She has had multiple surgeries and was once on life support for 19 days.
“We were told she was a lost cause. That she wasn't going to make it 12 months and here she's going to be 8-years-old.” Caity’s mom said. “We just want to thank everybody that's been there for her.”
Make-A-Wish is celebrating it’s 30th anniversary this year. Last year the Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana Make-A-Wish region fulfilled 865 wishes, which is more than any Make-A-Wish chapter in the country.
