The transition from snow - to a snow / sleet mix - to primarily rain, has occurred across most of the area, although some snow continues to fall in northeastern parts of the area.  1/2" of snow was reported in the grass across some parts of the northern Bluegrass, including in Scott County.  This afternoon will feature light rain showers and some patchy drizzle as the rain / snow line marches away to the northeast, and temperatures rise to near 40.  Tonight will be chilly with lows near 30 and some patchy freezing fog.  Wednesday will be milder with partly sunny skies and highs near 50, but rain showers will arrive on Wednesday evening, and become heavier overnight and into Thursday morning.  A stray thunderstorm or two may occur on Wednesday night, embedded within the rain.  Thursday will be mild with highs near 53 as scattered rain showers linger before drier air returns late.  Friday will be partly sunny and dry with highs in the middle 40s.  A storm system passing to our south may pass close enough for a few southern Kentucky rain showers on Saturday, but the Bluegrass Region will probably stay dry with highs in the upper 40s. Spotty snow flurries may occur on Sunday as that storm system slides to our east.  Another approaching disturbance could spark a rain shower or two on Monday, with highs near average in the middle 40s.
