Fans of the hit ABC show 'Private Practice' saw a Winchester native Tuesday night.

Matt Long plays a new doctor on the medical drama.

The 32-year-old actor has also been seen in several episodes of the Emmy-winning show "Mad Men".

We spoke to Long's family.

Matt's father Larry Long says, "Obviously we are very proud, but it's exciting because he gets to do what he wants to do. This is what he's wanted to do for some time and to see him do that is exciting for us and gives us a lot of satisfaction because he's doing it and he's been successful at it. He enjoys it so much."

Private Practice airs every Tuesday at 10:00pm on ABC 36.
