Restaurants and bars in Winchester can now sell alcohol on Sundays.

Today was the first day sales were allowed and just in time for football season.

Sports bars like Woody's are normally closed on Sundays.

But they were open, with football on their TV'S and beers in the hands of many customers.

The city commissioner passed an ordinance just a week ago allowing restaurants and bars to sell alcohol on Sundays.

The county fiscal also has a second reading on a similar ordinance scheduled for later this month.
