An eighth grade student at Winburn Middle School in Lexington is one of only three students nationwide to earn a perfect score on the Regional Qualifying Exam for the 2013 National History Bee.

Zach Ross, along with three of his classmates now move on to the Regional Contest at Dunbar High School in April.

"I was pretty excited about it, I didn't think I would get that high of a score. I mean I do fancy myself a social studies nerd," said Ross.

If Zach does well in the next phase of the competition, he will represent the Lexington area at the National Championship in Atlanta.
