Speaking Wednesday in Lexington, Senator David Williams wouldn't rule out an appointment as a circuit judge in Southern Kentucky.

ABC 36 was the only TV station there as Williams spoke to the Fraternal Order of Police. Williams said he didn't know if he would be offered a judgeship by Governor Steve Beshear. But he said it would be hard "not to go home."

Williams told ABC 36 he had not applied for the job, but he had considered it. He says he has talked to a lot of people about it, but not Governor Beshear. Williams, a Republican, is the president of the Kentucky State Senate.

Williams said a panel will recommend three names to the governor after October 26th, with the governor then picking one of those names.
