The University of Kentucky now has a name for the wildcat statue in front of Memorial Coliseum.

Students have voted to name the statue 'Bowman.' The statue bears the name of John Bowman, who is credited with fighting for the creation of the University of Kentucky.

The university says before being named, the statue was referred to simply as “That Wildcat Sculpture in Front of Memorial Coliseum.”
