A push to get Kentucky smoke-free is picking up steam as 65 percent of adults now support a potential smoke-free law.

A new bill recently introduced by State Representative Susan Westrom (D-Lexington) and Sen. Julie Denton (R-Louisville) would make all public areas, including restaurants, bars and workplaces, clear of secondhand smoke.

Governor Steve Beshear voiced his support for the bill shortly after it was announced.

On Saturday, Westrom visited the White House to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the first report from the Surgeon General.
