West Liberty Raising Money for Movie Theater

The owner of a historic movie theater in West Liberty is raising money to rebuild.
Chris Ball, the owner of Towne Cinema in West Liberty is looking for help raising money to rebuild his destroyed movie theater.

The historic underground theater was heavily damaged in the March Second Tornado that devastated most of the town. Ball says there is too much water damage and mold now growing in the theater. He says the entire building will more than likely have to be torn down.

Ball wants to build a new three-screen theater with an arcade and museum, dedicated to the history of cinema in West Liberty. He says he would need at least half a million dollars to build the new theater, however he's only been able to raise about 880 dollars.

The Towne Cinema is 40-years old and is one of only two movie theaters that sits underground.
