West Liberty Getting $30 Million Facelift

Legislators announced Monday that the tornado-ravaged town would soon be getting $30 million to rebuild city and county centers. Meanwhile, people living in town continue to rebuild, as well.
West Liberty is getting some work done after the devastating tornadoes of 2012.

Congressman Hal Rogers and Governor Steve Beshear announced a $30 million plan to rebuild the city with federal, state, and private sector money Monday.

Legislators said the project includes a new youth center and finishing the Morgan County courthouse, among other things.

Some people in West Liberty were working on their own rebuilding efforts Monday.

Lee Ann McCowan, owner of 'The Mane Event'--a hair salon--checked out the progress on her building.

It was completely destroyed in the March 2nd tornadoes.

She said she hopes to have it finished by April 1st, 2013.

Congressman Rogers said the rebuilding project for West Liberty could be the largest in Kentucky's history.
