Midnight Update:  A dry, cold front has just moved through the region, with arctic air continuing to move into Kentucky for Thursday.  Overnight low temperatures will fall into the single digits and lower teens, with Thursday afternoon high temperatures only around 26 degrees.  Mostly sunny skies will continue through the day Thursday, despite the frigid temperatures.  Thursday night into Friday will feature mostly clear skies with overnight low temperatures around 17 degrees.  Clouds increase thoughout the day Friday, with a high temperature of 39 degrees.  A rain-snow mix will move into the region Friday evening, with more of a cold rain for Saturday.  Saturday high temperatures will be around 38 degrees.  A transition back to a rain-snow mix will occur Saturday night, with the chance for some light snow on Sunday as the weather disturbance moves away from the region.

COLDEST NIGHT OF THE SEASON - We look to have our coldest night and day so far this season, as we continue overnight through Thursday. Temperatures remain chilly for Friday through the weekend, with highs in the 30s. A chance for a wintry mix and rain will return Friday night through Sunday. (The coldest low temperature we’ve had this season was 15 degrees on November 15th. The coldest high temperature so far this season was 29 degrees on December 7th.)

TONIGHT: A dry, cold front will swing through overnight, bringing colder air into the region and the chance for a few flurries. Overnight low temperatures will fall to around 12 degrees by early Thursday morning! Winds should be light, yet any wind chills will be in the single digits.

THURSDAY: Thursday looks to be our coldest day so far this season, with afternoon high temperatures around 26 degrees. Skies will stay mostly sunny, with high pressure over the region.

FRIDAY: Clouds will increase throughout Friday, with a chilly high temperature of 39 degrees. A rain and snow mix will move into the region Friday night, as a weather disturbance approaches.

WEEKEND: Rain and snow chances will continue Saturday into Sunday, with mainly a cold rain for Saturday, and minimal snow on Sunday. Saturday high temperatures will be around 38 degrees, with rain possible throughout the day. Colder air is expected to move in Saturday night into Sunday, changing the rain over to some light snow. Sunday morning low temperatures will be around 27 degrees, with a Sunday high of only 31 degrees.
