Midnight Update:  The rain showers from Wednesday have diminished with a clearing trend from west to east across Kentucky tonight.  We will have some patchy fog developing overnight into Thursday morning.  Overnight low temperatures will fall into the lower 60s.  Thursday will be a warmer day with partly sunny skies and a high of 80 degrees.  There will be a chance for an isolated rain shower or thunderstorm, yet most of us will stay dry.  The next best chance for a good soaking rain will be Friday night into early Sunday, as a cold front slowly moves into the region.  Temperatures will remain around 80 degrees for Friday, with temperatures returning to the lower 70s for the weekend.

We have had cool and cloudy conditions today, yet we should have warmer and more humid conditions for Thursday and Friday. Isolated rain showers and thunderstorms will be possible Thursday and Friday, yet Saturday will feature a better chance for a good soaking rain, as a slow moving cold front moves into the region.

TONIGHT: We will have mostly cloudy skies tonight, with the chance for a few isolated rain showers. Overnight low temperatures will be around 63 degrees, with some patchy fog.

THURSDAY: Temperatures will be warmer on Thursday, with a high of 80 degrees, and the chance for an isolated rain shower or thunderstorm. Skies will generally be partly to mostly cloudy.

FRIDAY: Clouds will increase throughout the day Friday, as a cold front approaches the region by late in the day. Friday high temperatures will be around 81 degrees, which will also be our warmest day of the week. There will be a chance for some isolated rain showers and thunderstorms by late in the day. However, the bulk of the rain associated with the approaching cold front, does not look to move in until Friday night.

SATURDAY: The chance for rain will increase for Friday night into Saturday as a cold front approaches from the Midwest, and moves through on Saturday. Weather models are showing the potential for a good soaking rain on Saturday. With cloudy skies and rain showers during the day, high temperatures will only reach 74 degrees.

SUNDAY: The cold front looks to stall along the Appalachian Mountains for Sunday, which will give us the chance for lingering rain showers even into Sunday. Our first official day of fall is Sunday, with mostly to partly cloudy skies and a high of 70 degrees.

NEXT WEEK: Temperatures will remain in the mid to upper 70s for next week, with generally partly sunny skies.
