Temperatures are already well above where we should be for this time of the year. As of lunch we're in the upper 70s. Look for low to mid 80s this afternoon. If temps spike to 83°F we'll tie our previous high for today. This heat and the added humidity you're feeling to the air will all add "fuel to the fire" for showers and thunderstorm into your Thursday. Happy Hump Day Wednesday!
It's a very nice and mild start this morning with many of us in the 50s and low 60s. By lunch time, look for temperatures in the in low 70s with more sunshine. Around your drive home from work, around 5 p.m., we're forecasting temps in the low 80s. Our record high for today was set back in 2011 at 83°F, today we're expecting 80°F; however a few of us could see and feel temps soar into the mid 80s. This evening, though a few spotty showers are possible, clouds should begin to thicken up with the approach of showers and thunderstorms by Thursday.Thursday afternoon & evening:
Look for clouds to start off your morning with showers and storms roaring into the Blue Grass after lunch time. Our main concern with strong/severe thunderstorms
that develop will be large hail
(golf ball size & larger) and strong damaging winds
(over 60 mph).
Showers and storms should push through just after lunch time Thursday and linger through that mid/late afternoon into early Friday morning.
