We will continue to have mostly sunny skies and seasonable temperatures this week. Temperatures will be chilly in the mornings and overnight hours, yet mild during the afternoon.

TONIGHT: Clear skies will continue tonight, with a chilly low temperature of 47 degrees. There will be a chance for some patchy fog developing overnight, mainly for the river valleys.

THURSDAY: Sunny skies will continue for Thursday, with high temperatures reaching 74 degrees.

FRIDAY: We are tracking a low pressure system off the Mid-Atlantic coast, which may give us a few extra clouds on Friday, and a few sprinkles in far Eastern Kentucky. Otherwise, the majority of Central and Eastern Kentucky will stay mostly sunny. Friday afternoon high temperatures will be around 75 degrees. Temperatures at the start of Friday night high school football games will be around 68 degrees, so a jacket will be good to take along.

THIS WEEKEND: Partly sunny skies will be around for the weekend, with temperatures staying in the mid 70s. A weakening and moisture-starved cold front will approach the region on Sunday and Monday, giving us the chance for a few spotty rain showers, yet we are not expecting much rainfall. Temperatures look to be in the upper 60s at the start of the UK vs. Alabama football game Saturday evening.

NEXT WEEK: A better chance for rain will return midweek next week, as a stronger cold front moves through next Wednesday, which will also bring in colder air.
