Midnight Update: We are looking at a very warm night, with muggy conditions. Temperatures at 11pm have ranged from the lower 70s to around 80 degrees, with the heat index still in the lower 80s for the Lexington Metro area. We expect to have only an isolated chance for rain overnight, yet rain chances will increase by late Wednesday as a cold front approaches from the Midwest United States. There is an enhanced risk for severe thunderstorms from the Lexington Metro area westward for Wednesday afternoon and evening as well. A cold front will move through early Thursday, which will bring in drier, more pleasant air to the region. By Friday morning, temperatures will be around 60 degrees!
We will continue to have hot temperatures, humid conditions, and increased rain chances for Wednesday into Thursday, with pleasant conditions Friday into the weekend.
Tonight: Temperatures will remain warm overnight, with low temperatures around 72 degrees, and the chance for an isolated shower.
Wednesday: A cold front will approach the region from the northwest late Wednesday, giving us the chance for scattered rain showers and thunderstorms Wednesday afternoon and evening. Wednesday afternoon high temperatures will be around 89 degrees.
Wednesday Night: We will continue to have rain chances Wednesday night into early Thursday, as a cold front moves through the region. Overnight low temperatures will be around 69 degrees.
Thursday: Mostly cloudy skies and lingering rain chances will continue for early Thursday, as a cold front slowly moves through the region. Thursday afternoon high temperatures will be around 84 degrees.
Friday – Weekend: We will have pleasant conditions returning for the end of the week, with mostly sunny skies for Friday and Saturday, with highs in the low to mid 80s. Sunday will feature partly sunny skies with a high of 87 degrees.
