Midnight Update:  We still have a few isolated rain showers and thunderstorms across the region, yet most of the rain will diminish by the early morning hours of Thursday.  Because of the recent rainfall, we can expect to have another morning with some locally dense fog, which could cause some travel delays for the Thursday morning commute.  Thursday will be our warmest day of the week, with a high of 78 degrees.  There will be another chance for some late day rain showers and thunderstorms on Thursday, yet our next best chance for widespread rainfall will be late Friday into early Saturday, as a cold front approaches and moves through the region.
_____________________________________________________________
The chance for scattered rain showers and thunderstorms will stay in the forecast, as a slow moving low pressure system lingers over the Mid-Atlantic through Thursday, followed by an approaching cold front Friday into Saturday. Temperature...s will remain warm through Friday, with cooler temperatures by the end of the weekend.

Tonight: A line of rain showers and some embedded thunderstorms will move through the region this evening, followed by isolated rain chances overnight. Skies will generally be mostly cloudy, with overnight low temperatures around 55 degrees. Patchy dense fog will be possible as well.

Thursday: After some morning fog, partly sunny skies will develop for the afternoon, with a high of 78 degrees. There will be a chance for a few rain showers and thunderstorms late in the day, yet most of us look to stay dry.

Friday: A cold front will approach from the west giving us the chance for scattered rain showers and thunderstorms, especially in the afternoon and evening. Some thunderstorms may contain gusty winds. Friday afternoon high temperatures will be around 73 degrees.

Weekend: Lingering rain showers will be possible for Saturday, with highs around 69 degrees and mostly cloudy skies. More sunshine returns for Sunday, with highs around 63 degrees.
