Clouds, rain showers and cool temperatures are pouring into the Blue Grass this afternoon. Currently as of noon, temps are in the low 60s in eastern KY; however, here in Lexington, temps have already fallen into the upper 40s. I'm forecasting temperatures to tumble into the low 40s by 5pm before bottoming out in the upper 20s overnight. Be on the look out for slick roadways first thing Tuesday morning with perhaps an isolated flurry in the more mountainous regions of eastern KY.

I hope you enjoyed the heat and sunshine this weekend. We're tracking a major cool down today and through this evening. You are waking up this morning to the mild temps, but look for the numbers to continue to tumble through this afternoon with the passage of a powerful cold front. By lunchtime, I'm expecting temps in the upper 40s with low 40s in play by 6pm. Overnight lows should slide below freezing in the upper 20s. Showers, a few heavy at times, will dominate our day before things begin to clear by early evening.
In your 7-day forecast, I have sunshine in store by tomorrow with temps moderating into the low and mid 50s by late week and into next weekend.
