Afternoon Update:

As of your lunch, we're in the low to mid 40s under mostly sunny skies.  However, look for more clouds to move through during the course of the day.  Clouds and eventually showers should move in during the overnight hours giving way to light, non-accumulating snow showers by Wednesday mid-morning and afternoon.

Join Meteorologist Mark Stitiz tonight at 5pm, 6pm & 11pm for more on your wintry weather forecast for Wednesday.

It's a cool start to your Mardi Gras with a light frost in some spots.  Expect temperatures by noon in the low 40s under partly cloudy skies.  Highs should top out in the mid to upper 40s with increasing clouds into the evening and overnight hours.  Lows are expected to drop into the mid 30s with our chance for showers increasing during the late evening and overnight hours.

Just after 8pm tonight, we could see a few showers, but I think the best best for showers is early Wednesday morning in our southern counties.  By about the 9am hour, I'm expecting a light wintry mix of rain and sleet in the Blue Grass and north of I-64 with rain/sleet showers south of I-64.  At this point, though we could see a very light dusting in the Blue Grass and north of I-64, we're not forecast any significant accumulation (less and 0.5").

Join us today at noon on ABC 36 for the more on your forecast.
