Staying Warm & Muggy, With Isolated Rain & Thunderstorms

Midnight Update:  Isolated rain showers and thunderstorms have diminished for tonight, yet there are still scattered rain showers across Western Kentucky tonight.  We look to have partly cloudy skies overnight, with a mild and muggy low temperature of 63 degrees, by daybreak Thursday.  Thursday will feature partly cloudy skies, with the chance for widely scattered rain showers and thunderstorms.  Thursday afternoon high temperatures will be around 80 degrees.  Temperatures remain warm for Friday and Saturday, with highs in the lower 80s, and the chance for an isolated rain shower or thunderstorm.  Better chances for rain arrive for Sunday as a cold front moves through, bringing cooler temperatures for next week.  Sunday high temperatures will be around 72 degrees, with upper 60s to around 70 degrees for early next week.

Warm temperatures and muggy conditions will continue for the rest of the week, with the chance for isolated rain showers and thunderstorms each day. Cooler temperatures and better rain chances return for Sunday, as a cold front moves through the region.

TONIGHT: We will have the chance for a few isolated rain showers this evening, mainly for areas west of I-75. As we continue overnight, we’ll have partly cloudy skies with overnight low temperatures falling to 63 degrees. There will be a chance for some patchy fog by the early morning hours as well.

THURSDAY: We will have the chance for scattered rain showers and thunderstorms on Thursday, with partly cloudy skies and a high of 80 degrees.

FRIDAY and WEEKEND: Keeneland begins Friday, with temperatures about ten degrees above normal, as high temperatures will be in the lower 80s for Friday and Saturday. Friday will feature partly cloudy skies with the chance for an isolated rain shower or thunderstorm. A cold front will approach on Saturday, and move through the region on Sunday. Saturday will feature increasing clouds, with the chance for some late day scattered rain showers and thunderstorms. Sunday’s cold front will bring our best chance for rain showers and thunderstorms this week. Sunday will be cooler, with a high of 72 degrees.

NEXT WEEK: Cooler temperatures will continue for early next week, with upper 60s to around 70 degrees. The chance for rain showers will linger for Monday, with more sunshine developing by midweek next week.
