Midnight Update:  Skies have actually cleared in the past two hours, yet we expect rain to move into Central Kentucky by the morning commute, and into Eastern Kentucky by mid to late morning.  Temperatures will be mild for early Wednesday, with a high of 58 degrees by the late morning, with cooling temperatures through the afternoon to around 50 degrees.

A cold front will approach and move through the region tonight into early Wednesday, bringing rainy and cooler conditions to Kentucky for Midweek.

Tonight: We will have cloudy skies overnight with a few scattered rain showers possible. The best chance for rain will be for the early morning hours of Wednesday, with temperatures falling to 54 degrees by daybreak Wednesday.

Wednesday: A cold fro...nt will move through early in the day, with the bulk of the rain coming in late morning and lasting into the late afternoon hours. Rain looks to be the most widespread from midday into the early afternoon hours. Wednesday will be cooler with high temperatures around 58 degrees by the morning to midday hours, with temperatures in the lower 50s by the late afternoon.

Wednesday Night: Rain will diminish along I-75 by the late afternoon and in Eastern Kentucky by Wednesday evening. Skies will begin to clear after midnight Thursday, with overnight low temperatures around 35 degrees by early Thursday morning.

Thursday: Mostly sunny skies return for Thursday as high pressure builds back into the region. High temperatures will be around 60 degrees.

Friday: Friday will start off mostly sunny, with partly sunny skies and a high of 64 degrees by Friday afternoon. There is a slight chance for a few isolated rain showers Friday evening as our next weather system approaches the region.

Weekend: A low pressure system will approach us from the Southern Plains this weekend, giving us the chance for scattered rain showers for both Saturday and Sunday. The latest weather models have been trending more south with this system, and if that trend continues, that will decrease rain chances for areas along and north of I-64. High temperatures look to be in the lower 60s for Saturday and upper 60s for Sunday, yet temperatures may be warmer, if the rain chances decrease. If you have outdoor plans, at this point I’d recommend you prepare for rain to be safe, yet stay updated with the latest forecast.

It's looks like rain will make for a messy day out at Keeneland on Wednesday...ABC 36 at 6pm is on right NOW!
