Near Record Low Temperatures Tonight

Overnight low temperatures will fall to around 16 degrees, which is near the record low of 14 degrees set back in 1955. Cold temperatures continue for Wednesday, yet more sunshine returns. Milder air and rain chances return for the end of the work week.
 
Midnight Update:  Skies are clearing, and along with diminishing winds, temperatures will continue to fall into the mid-teens through the early morning hours of Wednesday.  The record low temperature for Wednesday is 14 degrees in Lexington, set back in 1955.  Wednesday will be chilly with a high of only 39 degrees, yet sunny skies will return.

Snow showers will taper off this evening, with much colder air returning for early Wednesday.  More sunshine returns for Wednesday, yet it will remain cold, with high temperatures in the upper 30s to near 40 degrees.  Milder temperatures return Thursday through the weekend, with rain chances as well.

TONIGHT: Snow showers will taper off early tonight, with clearing skies overnight as high pressure builds back into the region. Temperatures will be frigid, with Wednesday morning low temperatures around 16 degrees. (The record low temperature in Lexington for Wednesday is 14 degrees.)

WEDNESDAY: We will have sunny skies return for Wednesday, yet temperatures will only reach 39 degrees for the afternoon high temperature.

WEDNESDAY NIGHT: Clouds will increase Wednesday night into Thursday morning, with overnight low temperatures around 30 degrees.

THURSDAY: Seasonal temperatures return for Thursday, with partly to mostly cloudy skies and a high of 55 degrees. There will be a chance for a few rain showers on Thursday as well.

FRIDAY: A better chance for rain showers returns on Friday as a cold front approaches and moves through. Despite the extra clouds and rain chances, temperatures will still warm up to around 61 degrees.

WEEKEND: The chance for rain will linger into early Saturday, with clearing skies expected Saturday afternoon, with a high of 54 degrees. Sunday will be a pleasant day, with mostly sunny skies and a high of 57 degrees.

NEXT WEEK: Temperatures remain mild for the start of next week, with partly sunny skies and a high of 66 degrees next Monday, and around 57 degrees for next Tuesday. There will be a chance for scattered rain showers late Monday into Monday night as a cold front moves through.
