Mostly Sunny & Cold Tuesday

More sunshine returns for Tuesday with cold temperatures. Temperatures will be a little milder for New Year's Day, with snow chances for Thursday.
Midnight Update:  We have had scattered snow showers and flurries for Southern Kentucky this evening, yet skies are clearing across Central Kentucky, with a clearing trend expected to continue into early Tuesday morning.  Overnight low temperatures will fall into upper teens to around 20 degrees by daybreak Tuesday.  Tuesday will feature mostly sunny skies with an afternoon high of 36 degrees.  New Year's Eve night will feature temperatures in the upper 20s around midnight, with overnight low temperatures in the mid 20s by daybreak Wednesday.  New Year's Day Wednesday will feature partly sunny skies with a high temperature of 45 degrees.  Another weather disturbance will move through the region on Thursday, bringing the chance for snow showers.  Thursday afternoon high temperatures will be around 34 degrees.  Below normal temperatures continue Friday through next week, with highs in the 20s and 30s, and lows in the teens and lower 20s.  We will have another chance for snow by Sunday. 
Cold temperatures will continue for Tuesday, yet more sunshine returns. Temperatures will be a little milder for New Year’s Day, with the chance for snow by Thursday. Below normal temperatures continue through the extended forecast.

TONIGHT: Mostly cloudy skies will continue early tonight, with the chance for a few flurries. As we continue into early Tuesday morning, skies will clear, with overnight low temperatures around 21 degrees.

NEW YEAR’S EVE TUESDAY: Mostly sunny skies will return for Tuesday, with a chilly afternoon high of 36 degrees, as high pressure develops across the region.

NEW YEAR’S EVE NIGHT: We will have quiet weather for New Year’s Eve activities, with mostly clear to partly cloud skies and temperatures in the upper 20s around midnight, as we bring in 2014.

NEW YEAR’S DAY WEDNESDAY: Skies will generally be partly sunny for Wednesday, with temperatures back to around 45 degrees.

THURSDAY: A weather disturbance will move through the region, bringing the chance for some snow showers Thursday into Thursday night. Thursday high temperatures will be around 34 degrees.

FRIDAY: A few lingering snow showers may continue into Friday morning for areas east of I-75, with clearing skies through the day. Friday will be very cold, with morning low temperatures in the mid teens and afternoon highs in the mid 20s. Any leftover precipitation from Thursday, with cause concern for slick spots on area roadways on Friday.

WEEKEND: Saturday will start off the weekend with mostly sunny skies and a chilly high temperature of 33 degrees. Another weather disturbance will move through on Sunday, bringing another chance for snow showers, with high temperatures around 35 degrees.
