Patchy Fog Tonight, Milder For Friday

A weather system bringing rain and a wintry mix to the Southeast United States, will give us extra clouds, and enough moisture for some patchy fog tonight. There is also a slight chance for rain over Southeast Kentuck overnight.
Midnight Update:  Skies have cleared across Central Kentucky, with lingering clouds for Eastern Kentucky tonight.  With the clearing skies, light winds, and moisture streaming into the region, there will continue to be a chance for some fog developing through the morning hours of Friday.  Freezing fog will also be possible, as overnight low temperatures fall to around 29 degrees.  Freezing fog could cause some frosty or icy spots for the early morning hours of Friday.  Friday will feature increasing sunshine through the day, with a high of 55 degrees.  This weekend will start off mild, with a high of 56 degrees on Saturday.  A cold front will move through Saturday night through Sunday morning, bringing the chance for rain showers.  Sunday will be slightly cooler behind the cold front, with a high of 47 degrees.  Temperatures will be back in the upper 50s to around 60 degrees for Monday and Tuesday of next week.  Cooler air with rain chances return for next Wednesday.

There will be a chance for some patchy fog to develop overnight, with a few, spotty rain showers possible across Southeast Kentucky. Milder temperatures return for Friday and Saturday. A cold front will move through Saturday night into Sunday morning, bringing our next best chance for rain.

TONIGHT: A low pressure system will move along the Southeast United States coastline tonight into Friday, with Southeast Kentucky on the fringe of the rain bands. Most of us will stay dry, yet there is a slight chance for some spotty rain showers for Southeast Kentucky. Mostly cloudy skies will continue tonight, with the chance for some patchy fog developing as well. Overnight low temperatures will be around 29 degrees.

FRIDAY: We will start off your Friday morning with some patchy fog, yet skies will clear through the afternoon. Temperatures will be back to more seasonal highs Friday afternoon, with a high of 55 degrees.

FRIDAY NIGHT: We will have mostly clear skies Friday night, with a chilly overnight low temperature of 34 degrees.

WEEKEND: We will have a mild start to the weekend, with a high temperature of 56 degrees Saturday afternoon, with increasing clouds through the day. A cold front will approach and move through Kentucky late Saturday into early Sunday, bringing a chance for a few rain showers Saturday evening through early Sunday. Sunday morning low temperatures will be around 32 degrees, with a high of 47 degrees Sunday afternoon. Don’t forget to turn your clocks AHEAD one hour Saturday night, as we go back to Daylight Saving Time officially at 2am Sunday, March 9th. Sunset will be closer to 7:39 pm beginning on Sunday.

NEXT WEEK: Mild high temperatures will return for early next week, with a high of 58 degrees on Monday, and around 61 degrees on Tuesday. A weather disturbance will move into Kentucky Tuesday night into Wednesday, bringing the chance for rain showers and possibly a little wintry mix. Wednesday will be a cooler day, with a high of 44 degrees.
