Sunny & Chilly For Wednesday; Warming Trend Ahead

Mostly sunny skies return for Wednesday with chilly temperatures through the day. Temperatures get back into the 50s for Thursday, and near 60 degrees by Friday.
Midnight Update:  Clouds have lingered across the region this evening, yet skies should continue to clear into early Wednesday as high pressure builds across the region.  Wednesday morning low temperatures will be around 24 degrees, with mostly sunny skies through the afternoon and a high of 40 degrees.  Milder temperatures return on Thursday, with partly sunny skies and a high of 54 degrees.  Temperatures will be back into the upper 50s to near 60 degrees Friday through the weekend, with rain chances returning.
There will be a chance for some rain mixed with snow this evening for Eastern Kentucky, with clearing skies across the region overnight. More sunshine, yet chilly temperatures are on the way for Wednesday. Milder temperatures return Thursday through the weekend, with more rain chances Friday through Sunday.

TONIGHT: We will have scattered rain showers for Eastern Kentucky this evening, with the chance for a little snow mixed in, as a cold front continues to drop through the region. Skies will clear overnight with a frigid overnight low temperature of 24 degrees.

WEDNESDAY: High pressure will build into the region on Wednesday, giving us mostly sunny skies through the day and lighter winds. Temperatures will remain chilly, with a high of 40 degrees.

THURSDAY: Our winds will turn out of the south to southwest, bringing in milder air on Thursday, with partly sunny skies and a high of 54 degrees.

FRIDAY: Mostly cloudy skies will return for Friday, with the chance for scattered, late day rain showers. Despite the extra clouds and increasing rain chances, Friday afternoon high temperatures will be around 59 degrees.

WEEKEND: A stalled cold front combined with a series of low pressure systems moving through this weekend, will provide chances for a good soaking rain Saturday and Sunday. Temperatures look to remain milder, with a high of 62 degrees on Saturday and 60 degrees for Sunday. With the potential for heavy rainfall this weekend, there is also concern we could have some flooding issues as well. However, the biggest threat for flooding looks to be over Western Kentucky at this time.
