We will have increasing humidity and rain chances for the weekend, with below normal temperatures continuing. A warming trend returns for next week, with more normal to above normal high temperatures.

TONIGHT: There is a chance for a few isolated rain showers across Southern Kentucky this evening, yet most of the rain activity will diminish after sunset. More moisture will move into the region tonight, with partly cloudy skies overall. Overnight low temperatures will be around 59 degrees.

SATURDAY: We will have partly sunny to mostly cloudy skies throughout the day Saturday, with the chance for an isolated rain shower. Saturday afternoon high temperatures will be around 81 degrees, with the best chance for rain across Southern Kentucky.

SATURDAY NIGHT: We will have mostly cloudy skies overnight Saturday into Sunday, with the chance for a few lingering rain showers. Overnight low temperatures will be around 61 degrees.

SUNDAY: A better chance for rain will return for Sunday, with scattered rain showers possible throughout the day. Because of the increased cloud cover and rain chances, Sunday will be a few degrees cooler than Saturday, with a high of 79 degrees.

NEXT WEEK: We have been watching a system in the tropics closely this week, and it’s possible impact on the Eastern United States. At this time the low pressure system over the Yucatan Peninsula does not look to have a big impact on our regional weather. However, with Gulf moisture continuing to move into our region, increased humidity and the chance for rain will linger for early in the week. We are not expecting much in the form of rain next week, yet isolated rain showers will be possible for Monday. Temperatures start in the lower 80s on Monday, and will be in the upper 80s to near 90 degrees by late in the work week.
