Strong To Severe Thunderstorms Possible Wednesday

Widely scattered rain showers and thunderstorms will be possible tonight, with another round of thunderstorms possible Wednesday. There is a better chance for strong to severe thunderstorms late Wednesday, with gusty winds, large hail, and isolated tornadoes possible.
Midnight Update:  Rain and thunderstorm coverage has diminished, with only isolated activity lingering in Eastern Kentucky.  A cluster of strong to severe thunderstorms (Mesoscale Convective System) is moving out of the Midwest, heading toward the Ohio Valley.  We are expecting scattered thunderstorms to develop Wednesday afternoon, with a line of strong to severe thunderstorms forecasted to move through Kentucky Wednesday evening into Wednesday night.  Wednesday afternoon will be warm and muggy, with high temperatures around 85 degrees.  Drier conditions and more sunshine will return Thursday afternoon into Friday, with high temperatures in the upper 70s to around 80 degrees.

By late Wednesday, there will be a chance for strong to severe thunderstorms, with gusty winds, heavy rainfall, hail, and isolated tornadoes. The Storm Prediction Center has all of Kentucky under an enhanced risk for severe weather late Wednesday. Temperatures will remain warm and muggy for Wednesday, with a little milder air returning for Thursday and Friday.

TONIGHT: Mostly cloudy skies will continue with an isolated thunderstorm or rain shower possible. Overnight low temperatures will be around 68 degrees.

WEDNESDAY: Temperatures remain warm and muggy for Wednesday afternoon, with a high of 85 degrees. A cluster of strong to severe thunderstorms are expected to move through Kentucky and the Ohio Valley Wednesday evening through Wednesday night, with gusty winds, large hail, isolated tornadoes, and localized flooding possible.

WEDNESDAY NIGHT: The chance for thunderstorms and rain showers will linger Wednesday night into Thursday morning, with Thursday morning low temperatures around 66 degrees.

THURSDAY: The chance for rain and thunderstorms will linger into early Thursday, with partly sunny skies Thursday afternoon, and a high of 79 degrees.

FRIDAY: Mostly sunny to partly sunny skies will make for a very nice end to the work week, with an afternoon high of 80 degrees.

WEEKEND: Temperatures warm back into the low to mid 80s for the weekend, with a high of 84 on Saturday, and a high of 83 degrees on Sunday. Saturday is expected to be partly sunny, with increasing clouds and rain chances for Sunday.
