Rain And Thunderstorm Chances Stay In The Forecast

Isolated rain showers and thunderstorms will be possible tonight, with increasing rain chances for Thursday into Friday. Drier, yet cooler conditions return for the weekend.
Midnight Update:  Scattered rain showers and thunderstorms will continue to develop through the early morning hours of Thursday.  Any thunderstorms that develop, may contain gusty winds, small hail, heavy rainfall, and frequent lightning.  Overnight low temperatures will fall into the mid to upper 50s by daybreak Thursday.  Thursday will continue to be mild with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms possible.  Thursday afternoon high temperatures will be around 71 degrees.  Another round of rain showers and thunderstorms will be possible Thursday night into Friday as a cold front approaches and moves through Kentucky.  Friday afternoon high temperatures will be around 68 degrees.  Cooler and drier conditions return for the weekend, with highs around 57 degrees for Saturday and around 60 degrees for Sunday.

The chance for isolated rain showers and thunderstorms will continue through tonight, with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms on Thursday, and more widespread rain showers and thunderstorms on Friday as a cold front moves through.

TONIGHT: A warm front stretching from west to east along I-64, will lift into northern Kentucky tonight, with the best chance for rain staying north of I-64. Overnight low temperatures will be around 57 degrees.

THURSDAY: Better chances for rain return Thursday into Friday as a stronger cold front approaches on Thursday, and moves through Kentucky on Friday. Thursday will feature mostly cloudy skies and scattered rain showers and thunderstorms. Afternoon high temperatures will be around 71 degrees.

THURSAY NIGHT: More widespread rain showers will develop Thursday night into Friday, with the chance for some strong to severe thunderstorms. The biggest threat for severe weather looks to stay confined to western Kentucky, with damaging winds the biggest threat.

FRIDAY: A squall line of rain and thunderstorms will move through around midday Friday, damaging winds possible. Gusty winds around 35 mph will develop throughout the day Friday. Friday high temperatures will be around 68 degrees. You’ll need to take along the rain jacket and umbrella, if you’re heading to the opening day of Keeneland on Friday.

WEEKEND: Cool temperatures return this weekend, with high temperatures ranging from 57 degrees on Saturday, to 60 degrees on Sunday. We’re expecting mostly sunny skies for Saturday and partly sunny skies for Sunday.

NEXT WEEK: Rain chances return Sunday night into Monday, with Monday high temperatures around 59 degrees. Colder temperatures return by midweek next week.
