Afternoon Update:

As of lunch time, we have our eyes on a few patches of light fog towards southern KY. It should only last for the next 45 minutes - 1 hour before burning off and revealing a cool autumn sunshine.  Highs will top out in the low 50s this afternoon with temps tumbling tonight within just a few degrees of freezing.

Join Chief Meteorologist Jennifer Schack tonight at 5pm, 6pm & 11pm for more on your weekend warm up!

Happy Thursday morning!

As you're waking up and heading out the door, be on the look out for both frost and fog!  You'll need your scrapers and low beams to get your morning started, along with a pair of glasses to block the sunshine.  Temps this morning are only in the 20s & 30s. By lunch time, we're expecting lots of sunshine and temps in the mid to upper 40s before rounding out the afternoon in the low 50s.  We're not forecasting any showers today, tomorrow or this weekend.

Tonight, I'm anticipating a mostly clear and cold evening.  Look for temps to plummet to freezing overnight.  Friday morning should feature sunshine and cool morning temps.  By tomorrow afternoon, you'll notice warmer air in place with near 70 degree heat by this weekend.

As a side note, we're forecasting showers and thunderstorms come Monday & early Tuesday.  A few of those storms could be heavy and strong.

See you at Noon on ABC 36 for more on your forecast!

Ch-Ch-Chilly & frosty start this morning! More at 5am on @ABC36Lexington #GMK!
