Afternoon Update:

Although temperatures are comfortably cool this afternoon, we're expecting cold showers to move in during the day.  As the sun begins to set and temperatures start to plummet, look for snowflakes to then begin to fall mainly north of I-64 in our Blue Grass counties.  The rain/snow mix will be on going during the overnight hours into tomorrow morning leading to a very light dusting.  Little to no accumulation in expected; however, if you're up and out the door around daybreak tomorrow, ice on the roadways could be an issue.

Join Chief Meteorologist Jennifer Schack tonight at 5pm, 6pm & 11pm for more on this winter weather situation.

I hope you had a great Thanksgiving weekend!

This morning, we're waking up to cool temps with a few passing clouds.  By lunchtime, look for temps in the mid to upper 40s with increasing clouds.  By this afternoon a few of those clouds will produce showers.  Into this evening, we're forecasting ice cold temperatures with moisture in place.  Given the moisture along with near freezing cold temps, a wintry mix is possible overnight night into early Tuesday morning.  We're not anticipating any measurable snowfall; however, a light dusting can not be ruled out on grassy areas in our northern Blue Grass counties.  By early tomorrow morning, be on the look out for slick spots on the roadways.

After tomorrow morning's wintry mix, a mix of sun and clouds should prevail with temps in the low 40s.

If you're looking for a warm up, temperatures are trending on the warmer side of the scale the later week and into this next weekend.

Cold start w/a wintery mix possible north of I-64 overnight. More on the timing right now LIVE on @ABC36Lexington. http://t.co/t0NOZYTz
