Midnight Update:  Rain showers and thunderstorms have diminished so far, yet another round of isolated rain showers and thunderstorms will be possible for Friday.  Friday will feature partly sunny skies, with high temperatures back into the lower 80s.  Less humid air and mostly sunny skies will make for a pleasant start to the weekend, with Saturday afternoon high temperatures around 83 degrees.  The moisture will start to increase on Sunday, giving us the chance for isolated thunderstorms, with a high of 85 degrees.

Scattered thunderstorms will continue through tonight, with heavy rainfall the biggest threat. Eastern Kentucky is under a Flash Flood Watch until 11pm tonight, where slow moving thunderstorms may produce up to two inches of rain in less than an hour, leading to localized flooding. There will also be the threats for isolated gusty winds and frequent lightning.

TONIGHT: Partly to mostly cloudy skies will continue overnight with the chance for a few lingering rain showers and thunderstorms, with overnight low temperatures around 63 degrees.

FRIDAY: Thunderstorm coverage looks to be more isolated or widely scattered on Friday, with a warm afternoon high temperature of 83 degrees.

SATURDAY: Mostly sunny skies will be featured for the start of our weekend, with a Saturday afternoon high temperature of 83 degrees. Saturday will feel more comfortable with less humidity as well.

SATURDAY NIGHT: We will have a pleasant Saturday night, with mostly clear skies and a comfortable low temperature of 59 degrees.

SUNDAY: Partly sunny skies will be around for Sunday, with a warm afternoon high temperature of 85 degrees. There will be a chance for a few isolated thunderstorms during the afternoon and evening hours of Sunday as well.

NEXT WEEK: Warm temperatures continue for next week, with highs in the mid to upper 80s, with isolated to scattered thunderstorms possible each day.
